skateboarding 002 copy.jpg

Four College students from Chicago suburbs are skateboarding from Chicago to New York City . Actual skateboarders are Mike Kosciesza and Arthur Swidzinski. Tony Michal and James Lagen are riding along on bicyles pulling small carts with their supplies. They call their group Shred America. 'Shred' is skateboarding slang for skating your hardest. They are following the Lincoln Highway and spent the night in Van Wert.
Along the way to New York, they are trying to do sightseeing and get a sense of the local culture. Once in New York they will meet with Zoo New York, a skateboard company, that is supplying them with gear. As they travel, they are filming the trip and intend to produce a documentary when they are done with the trip. They also are daily updating a blog that can be found at shredamericafilm.com
